About Committees

SFAA Advisory Committees

Advisory Committees are an integral part of the SFAA work. All SFAA members are invited to join one or more committees to ensure that their viewpoint is heard and their ideas considered. Advisory Committees are consulted by staff on all issues and assist in crafting positions and policies of the Association. The Advisory Committees advise the Board on substantive issues so that the Board has the most up-to-date and comprehensive information when dealing with any subject.

There are 14 standing Advisory Committees:


The Committee addresses actuarial issues, and related topics, which impact the fidelity and surety industries.


The Committee discusses issues and developments impacting bail bonds.


The Committee serves as a focal point for addressing industry related Commercial Surety issues or concerns and provides recommendations to the Board of Directors.


 

The Committee serves as a focal point for addressing the promotion of the surety and fidelity industry and shall report its activities and make recommendations to the Board of Directors.


The Committee serves as a focal point for addressing industry related Contract Surety issues or concerns and provides recommendations to the Board of Directors.


 

The Committee discusses non-claim legal issues and developments impacting fidelity and surety bonds, and makes recommendations to SFAA staff and the Board of Directors.


The Committee serves as a focal point for addressing industry-related human resources concerns, including providing the outreach and program development necessary to attract and retain a diverse workforce.


The Committee serves as a focal point for addressing industry related issues or concerns regarding fidelity and crime coverage, and provides recommendations to the Board of Directors.


The Committee discusses issues and developments impacting the handling of claims on fidelity bonds, and makes recommendations to SFAA staff and the Board of Directors.


The Government Affairs Advisory Committee will assist the membership of The Surety & Fidelity Association of America in promoting and preserving the use of fidelity and surety bonds to protect public and private interests.


The International Advisory Committee of the Surety & Fidelity Association of America will take a leadership role, on behalf of the SFAA Membership and Board, in promoting and preserving the use of surety and fidelity bonds to protect public and private interests outside the United States.


The Committee addresses matters related to the reporting of fidelity and surety data to The Surety & Fidelity Association of America.


The Committee discusses issues and developments impacting the handling of claims on surety bonds, and makes recommendations to SFAA staff and the Board of Directors.


The mission of the Technology Advisory Committee is to serve as a focal point for addressing technology issues related to the surety and fidelity industry and to provide recommendations to the Board of Directors.
