SFAA will be offering two concurrent seminars designed for the entry level and intermediate level surety professional.

This Fundamentals of Commercial Surety Seminar will provide both an overview and detail regarding the commercial surety line of business. The Seminar will provide the entry level surety professional (up to 3 years of experience) with information and underwriting considerations regarding the many types of commercial surety bonds. Underwriting issues will include topics such as bond language evaluation, financial analysis, and assessment of the class of business risk. The Seminar also will include a session on marketing commercial surety. Instruction will be supplemented with interactive case studies.

This Intermediate Level Commercial Surety Seminar will provide in depth treatment of a variety of topics suitable for the seasoned commercial surety professional (over 3 years of experience). Sessions will feature panel discussions presenting topics such as reinsurance, taking indemnity and collateral and navigating through the bankruptcy of your bond principal. The Seminar also will address specialized bonds such as Customs bonds, reclamation bonds and workers’ compensation self-insurance bonds. Instruction will be supplemented with interactive case studies regarding claims under a commercial surety bond.

Both seminars will be held October 23-25 in Chicago at the Embassy Suites Hotel – Downtown (600 N. State Street). Register early. Space is limited. Attendance for each class will be capped at 30 students. Attached are the brochures for both seminars.
