Treasury Department, Circular 570, Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds list updated

July 8, 2016:

Greenwich Insurance Company (NAIC #22322) voluntarily relinquished its Treasury Certificate of Authority, effective as of June 30, 2016.

RLI Indemnity Company (NAIC #28860) no longer is an acceptable surety on Federal bonds. The company’s certificate of authority was terminated, effective as of June 14, 2016.


January 26, 2016:

A certificate of authority has been issued to Fair American Insurance and Reinsurance Company (NAIC # 35157). The company has an underwriting limitation of $24,306,000. The company is incorporated in New York and is licensed as surety in the following states: AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, DE, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE., NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV,WI, and WY.


December 24, 2015:

A certificate of authority also has been issued to Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Insurance Company (NAIC# 20044), which has an underwriting limitation of $115,951,000. The company is incorporated in Nebraska and is licensed in the following states: AL, AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY.

A certificate of authority has been issued to National Fire & Marine Insurance Company (NAIC# 20079), which has an underwriting limitation of $560,473,000. The company is licensed in Nebraska where it is incorporated.
